When the Mediterranean Diet conquers America: Ecceamerica launches new promotional and informational activities in the United States

In the United States, Italian Cuisine Week in the World is now a highly anticipated event. Every year, between November and December, chefs, enthusiasts, and curious onlookers celebrate the Mediterranean taste and lifestyle, recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. It is in this wave of enthusiasm that a new season of initiatives begins for the European program Ecceamerica, dedicated to promoting extra virgin olive oil and European organic wines.

United States, 3rd November 25 – From November 1 to early December, the Ecceamerica Project—co-financed by the European Union and promoted by Unaprol, Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano, and CAP, Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal, pursuant to EU Reg. 1144/2014—will return to the spotlight in cities that symbolize the American lifestyle: from California to Nevada, to New York and New Jersey.

In the coming weeks, selected restaurants and specialty stores will become ambassadors of European taste, hosting tastings, dedicated recipes, and informational activities designed to introduce the North American public to the culture of extra virgin olive oil and organic wine. Among the partners involved, in addition to the network of restaurants that already enthusiastically participated in the first edition of the program, is Eataly, an international reference point for the dissemination of Italian gastronomic culture. This is concrete confirmation of the growing interest and demand for authenticity that the American public shows towards quality European agri-food products.

With over 300 days of promotion and 22 locations involved, Ecceamerica will bring the story of the European organic olive and wine production chain into direct contact with consumers, retailers, and industry operators, promoting products that represent authenticity, traceability, and sustainability.

A journey through taste, but also through values. Because the Mediterranean Diet, with its balance between flavor and well-being, continues to fascinate North America as a symbol of a healthy and conscious lifestyle.

“It is absolutely important to continue talking about these products at an international level to protect a historical and cultural heritage that has been famous throughout the world for over 2000 years,” emphasizes Nicola Di Noia, CEO of Unaprol, leader of the project.

The new activities in the United States confirm the success of the Ecceamerica format, which in its second year renews its commitment to building bridges between European excellence and the curiosity of overseas consumers. Because when it comes to extra virgin olive oil and organic wine, the common language is always that of good taste.
