Canada reopens its doors to organic products: European extra virgin olive oil and wine in 7 restaurants in Ontario!
Organic is no longer a niche: it’s a conscious choice that more and more Canadian consumers are making every day. Organic extra virgin olive oil and wine are back in Canada with Ecceamerica, an opportunity to be discovered in seven Ontario restaurants.
The Canadian market is showing a growing interest in organic products, with particular attention to extra virgin olive oil and certified wine. Imports of extra virgin olive oil have reached record figures, with a value of over 211 million US dollars in 2021, and Italy continues to be one of the main suppliers of high-quality EVO oil. At the same time, the consumption of organic wine is constantly growing, driven by the new generations in search of authentic, sustainable products with an unmistakable flavour.
After a period of global challenges in the sector, Canada is proving to be a receptive, attentive and constantly evolving market, where the desire for authenticity and transparency guides the choices of those looking for the best on their tables. This renewed interest reflects a transformation in consumer habits: more and more Canadians are choosing genuine, certified and environmentally friendly ingredients, recognising the added value of European organic produce.
But how can we bring this excellence directly to the tables of enthusiasts?
Starting on 11 March, Ecceamerica – the three-year project co-financed by the European Union for the promotion of certified extra virgin olive oil and organic wine – continues its journey in Canada with an important initiative dedicated to the restaurant industry. After the success of the first phase in retail outlets, which saw significant involvement from consumers, the project is now entering the beating heart of gastronomic culture: restaurants.
An unmissable opportunity to discover how extra virgin olive oil and organic wine can enrich contemporary cuisine, combining intense flavours, sustainability and tradition for 105 days!
With this initiative, Ecceamerica, in collaboration with Unaprol – Consorzio Olivicolo Italiano and CAP – Confederação dos Agricultores de Portugal, brings to the table a story of tradition, innovation and quality, bringing the Canadian public ever closer to the authenticity of European organic produce. Because choosing a product doesn’t just mean buying it: it means getting to know it, understanding its history and appreciating every detail.
And what better place than a restaurant to transform this discovery into an unforgettable experience?
